John Magnie’s Grocery Story with Opening Act TBA
The Grocery Story is the current musical adventure of subdudes mates John Magnie and Steve Amedee. It’s an 8-piece band, featuring Steve and his son Jess Amedee on he double drum set, and Marty Rein on bass, and Mike Finders on guitar, and Magnie on keys, with 3 dynamic lead singers up front: Peaches Embry, Rhonda Merrick and Erik Lunde.
It is a heartfelt musical experience with original songs that range from hard blues to rockin’ revival, and all points in between!
This experience has been captured on the band‘s new album: SITUATION ON AISLE #3, recorded in their hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado.
More about the band:
John Magnie grew up in Denver, moved to New Orleans in 1974, met Steve Amedee and the other subdudes there, who all moved to Fort Collins in 1987. Rhonda Merrick just landed in Fort Collins in March 2024 and is a member of a famous musical family in New Orleans, but she actually grew up in the town right next to Steve’s hometown in Louisiana. Peaches Embry has family roots in New Orleans also but grew up in Gary, Indiana. Along with Erik Lunde from Wisconsin, and Mike Finders from Iowa, they all have been major contributors to the Fort Collins music scene: all 3 are great writers and singers. Marty Rein is a Colorado kid and has always been the scene’s bass player of choice. Jess Amedee was born in Fort Collins and was playing the drums by age 3. He and his dad on their custom double drumset are one big grooving machine!
